Research Requests
If you can't find the information you need—or can't spend the time looking for it—request a Custom Information Response (CIR), a specially prepared information packet on any K-12 education topic.
What kind of research can I ask for?
Whether the subject is broad, like mathematics curriculum, or as specific as research on number sense, an experienced Information Specialist can prepare a CIR for you. ERS specialists utilize a vast network of electronic databases, a 20,000+ volume library, and other print and online resources to get what you need.
How do I request a CIR?
Requesting a CIR is easy. Simply contact our Information Center by phone at (800) 791-9308, by fax at (800) 791-9309, or by email at msic ers.org. Or, click here to complete our CIR request form!
Specify the type and amount of information you need, being as specific as possible regarding your topic, the grade levels you are addressing, and any other details regarding your request that you can provide.
How much does it cost?
The base cost for a CIR is $120. Subscribing school districts are eligible for a number of free CIR requests, based on the district's level of subscription, with additional requests charged at the 50% discount rate of $60 each. Call the ERS Information Center for additional details regarding your district's subscription and the availability of free requests.
When can I expect it?
The completion time for a CIR request is about five to seven business days from the day your request is received by ERS. We understand, though, that sometimes you need this vital research quickly.
