Welcome to the Directors of Research and Evaluation Registry.
The Directors of Research and Evaluation (DRE) of school districts across the country have had a long history of sharing successful strategies . While the functions of research and evaluation offices--as well as the names applied to them--have changed over the years to encompass an ever-wider list of responsibilities, the focus of the group has always been the identification of ways to provide high-quality data and information for school and district use in decision making.
Much of the discussion and sharing among members occurs at an annual meeting held just prior to the convention of the American Educational Research Association. However, the sharing continues informally through the remainder of the year through phone and email, with members of the group always willing to offer advice and assistance based on projects already completed in their own districts.
This Web page, hosted by ERS, now provides an additional way for members to make contact with each other and to share resources. On this site, members of the group will be able to identify their areas of interest--for example, evaluation of an early reading program--as well as programs or topics they have already studied in their districts. In addition, members can upload completed reports as well as download reports other members make available.
Links at the left of this page take you directly to these functions, to a searchable database of members, and to areas containing ERS materials. An additional hint--hitting the "Print Version" in the page header formats the page for better printing. For more information about the DRE group or about this online resource, email dre ers.org.
