Paris, France – 3rd June 2025
The Ecosystem Restoration Standard (ERS) Programme has been officially approved as eligible under the Core Carbon Principles (CCPs) of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM), a significant milestone for our mission and for the broader market for high-integrity, nature-based carbon credits.

The ICVCM’s Core Carbon Principles represent the global benchmark for carbon credit quality, helping buyers identify credits that deliver real, measurable, and lasting impact. With this recognition, ERS joins a small group of standards that have met the ICVCM’s rigorous requirements for governance, transparency, tracking, and robust third-party verification.

“This recognition reaffirms the rigour of the ERS Programme and the real, lasting impact of the projects we certify for climate, nature, and local communities,” said Thibault Sorret, CEO of ERS. “We developed our standards and methodologies from the ground up with alignment to the Core Carbon Principles in mind, and we’re proud to see that effort validated.”

Founded in 2020, the ERS programme was designed from the ground up to address key challenges in the voluntary carbon market, with a focus on efforts that simultaneously combat climate change, uplift biodiversity, and improve livelihoods.

With this programme-level approval, ERS’s Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR) methodology will now move into the ICVCM’s methodology assessment pipeline.

Annette Nazareth, Chair of the Integrity Council Governing Board, said: “We congratulate ERS on meeting our rigorous criteria and becoming the seventh carbon crediting program to be approved as CCP-Eligible.”

With this recognition, ERS is poised to scale its impact through a new generation of high-quality projects across critical ecosystems. The organisation remains focused on enabling efforts to restore 1% of the planet by 2030, all while ensuring the highest levels of environmental and social integrity.
